Каретный сарайThe exhibition «From Martiros Saryan to Vladimir Martirosov», a part of the II Theatrical Art Biennale program, is open at the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum from November 23.
The exhibition’s purpose is to show the Armenian theatrical and decorative art to a wide audience. The exhibition features works related to performances staged in Armenian and Russian theatres. Some of the works are represented by the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum’s collection.
Exhibition curators Marina Bagdasaryan and Dmitry Rodionov will present the works of Armenian theatrical artists of the XX-XXI centuries.
The curators are focused on prominent representatives of the Armenian art: Vazgen Sureniants, Georgy Yakulov, Martiros Saryan, Mikhail Arutchyan, Sarkis Arutchyan, Stepan Taryan, Minas Avetisyan and others. A particular emphasis is placed on the works of contemporaries – Marina Azizyan, Stepan Zograbyan, Vladimir Martirosov.
The exhibition includes set and costume designs, models, posters and programs, including playbills of the Decade of Armenian Art in 1939 and the Decade of Armenian Art in 1956, as well as photos.
The exhibition will run until January 6, 2019 and will be accompanied by a cultural and educational program.
